Day 1

Yesterday Virginia made it to the coast to officially put her feet in the Atlantic. Today, she set out with Shea, another walker, and Cindy, the filmmaker, from Confederate Park in Jacksonville, Florida. Their route took them along the walker friendly Baldwin Trail. Click here to see the trail.

This walk took them approximately 15 miles west of Confederate Park to the suburb of Baldwin, Florida which has a population of 1,388. The primary coordinate point for Baldwin is located at latitude 30.3078 and longitude -81.9737

"The support along the way has been amazing!" Virginia said earlier today. The proprietors of Amore B&B in Jacksonville, Sierra and Rob, were incredible hosts and took the girls to the ocean yesterday and grocery shopping last evening, and set them off on their journey today.

Barbara Jobo met the gals on the Baldwin trail and was kind enough to reach into her pocket and provide them with some cash to help pay for their lunch at the ever popular, Everybody's Restaurant!

A big thank you to Brianna, the manager of the hotel they are staying in this evening. We LOVE your enthusiasm!!

Another big thank you to Lola and Misty at the Baldwin City Hall. They were kind enough to keep an eye on the buggies so that Virginia and Shea could go eat and explore without their supplies.
